I am delighted that you have taken the opportunity to view our website and learn more about St. George’s International School.
St. George’s has a 90-year tradition of providing a well-rounded preparatory education for students from pre-Foundation to Year 13. A community of 400 students and 100 staff members from over 60 nationalities that call St. George’s home.
At St. George’s we are proud of our outstanding academic results and reputation, not just here in Switzerland but throughout the world. Our boarding and day pupils leave us for the very best Universities worldwide.
At St. George's International School we strive to develop leadership skills in our children through all that we do, especially in sport and the performing arts, with an emphasis placed on integrity, teamwork and celebrating success. Students are also encouraged to take a full part in the wide range of co-curricular activities. One of the hallmarks of a holistic education at a premium quality school is the variety of opportunities afforded to all its students. With over fifty clubs and societies to choose from, pupils at St. George’s have no excuse to be bored and very little time to waste. Whether you’re into Basketball, Chess, Drama, Music, Skiing or Swimming, there is something to suit every taste or to awaken a new passion in your life. Team Sport allows children to take part in meaningful competition, teaching the value of both winning and losing, helping to build resilience. Taking part, doing one’s best and setting personal goals are all important lessons to be learned.
St. George's International School aims to enable each pupil to achieve his/her full academic potential, and to provide a stable, secure environment in which pupils are encouraged and guided to exercise initiative and creativity, and develop physical fitness. The stimulation of intellectual curiosity is also regarded as vital, as is the provision of that wider education which will help a pupil to acquire the personal balance of self-awareness and confidence, thereby preparing and fitting him or her for the opportunities and challenges of adult life.
All of these elements help make St. George’s a great school. However, what will stand out to you when you visit is the St. George’s community. It’s inspirational. Walking around our beautiful and unique campus you will see teachers that are passionate about education. They are inspirational, compassionate and they personally connect with their students. The St. George’s community is a place where students thrive because of teachers that make a difference.
I encourage your family to attend an admissions event, schedule a personal tour of our campus, and ask questions. Our staff looks forward to meeting you and assisting your family in the admissions process.
