Sports

Outside of curriculum lessons, where all students have Physical Education and Games on their timetable, all students are given the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sporting clubs and activities.

Sporting clubs on offer depend on the time of year (where the weather often dictates what is possible) and the interests of the students. Some clubs will run throughout the whole year, while other clubs will only run for a term.

The sporting clubs and activities vary between recreational level, where students enjoy the social and participation aspect of sport, to competitive level, where students train and compete in local leagues and tournaments.

Expertise is sought through the sports department staff, academic staff and external coaches to offer the best possible experience in these sports. We are extremely fortunate to have a large number of dedicated and experienced staff willing to offer competitive and recreational sporting clubs throughout the year.

St. George's International School is affiliated with a number of organisations in Switzerland and competes regularly through these. Locally the school plays matches and tournaments through the newly formed MLS (Mountain League Schools) organisation of which St George’s is one of the founding member schools. Casting a wider net, tournaments are attended through the SGIS (Swiss Group of International Schools) where the school competes regularly during the week and on occasional weekends.
