On Tuesday the 9th of October 2018 St.Georges Under 13 girls football team went to St Legier to play against ISL, haut-lac and Aiglon.
Our first game was against Haut-lac. We lost this game 0-1 but managed to keep more goals out of goal through defensive team work and encouragement of our new goal keeper. Although this was a heartfelt loss we were very determined to win the next game and we did!! Our coaches, Geoff and Ms. McKenna, emphasised the need to keep pushing up the field and running into every pass in order to intercept. This is exactly what Liv did when she managed to close down a pass between two Aiglon girls and she scored as a result of her hard work, following a great pass from Maxine and Peilin. Our defence remained very strong in this game with Haruna, Keira, Tia and Anika working very hard throughout both halves.
In our third and last game we met ISL. ISL were very focused and proved hard to beat from the first touch. We tried very hard to end this game with a draw by continuing with our strong defensive back row and our mid field with Kailyn and Clara working very hard but in the end ISL snuck a quick goal past Lucy. We are very proud of what we have achieved in a short space of time since the beginning of term and we will enter our next games with more confidence.
