School production Fame

02 December 2019

On Monday & Tuesday this week many of you attended St. George’s fantastic performance of FAME the musical. The Musical follows the highs and lows of a class of New York City's illustrious High School for the Performing Arts from their first year in 1980 to their graduation in 1984. It tells the story of several of the students, depicting their struggles, triumphs and tempestuous relationships with sincerity and dramatic effect. We see the struggles with ambition, fame, and self-confidence through the eyes of the students.

On both evenings the performance was outstanding and it really showcased the talents of our students in Music, Drama and Dance. The production was supported by our amazing school band alongside Mr Porter & Mr Gillan in their questionable 80’s attire...

We would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone involved for their contributions; parents, teachers and support staff. Most importantly we must thank our students who have given up at least 4 hours a week since the start of term to rehearse for the production. You really are so talented and your commitment and enthusiasm is just infectious.

A special mention must go out to Darcy, Isaac, Sean, Nayef & Suzuka as sadly it will be their last whole-school production at St. George’s. Thank you for all of the amazing contributions you have made within the Arts– we will really miss you!
