We are delighted to announce an incredible set of IB results from our graduating class of 2020. This year has been a difficult year in many ways and we are delighted our graduates have been recognised by the IB for their resilience, academic endeavour and determination to succeed. We would like to thank all their peers, teachers and families who have worked together to teach, support and encourage these students throughout this year.
In the graduating class of 2020, 29 students undertook the full IB Diploma programme. An incredible 34% of these students achieved 38+ points, 90% of students achieved 30+ points and 100% achieved 25+. The St. George’s class of 2020 achieved an average IB score of 35.4 points, well above the global average of 29.9 points.
Excellent Results in an extraordinary time
Anna joined St. George’s from Russia in 2013 as a Year 7 boarder. Anna has studied for 7 years at St. George’s. In her final year, Anna became Head Prefect and was an outstanding ambassador for the student body and the school. Anna has now graduated with 38 points in her IB Diploma. Anna will stay in Switzerland to continue her education and hopes to study at Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne.
Anna has been a boarding student at St.George’s since 2014. She was a Prefect in her final year and an active and engaged member of the school community. Anna achieved an excellent 40 points in her IB Diploma. She hopes to study Psychology at King’s College London.
Emma has attended St. George’s for 15 years, starting in our Foundation Stage 1 class. Emma achieved amazing results of 38 points in her IB Diploma and hopes to fulfil a life long dream to study law in London.
Eva joined St. George’s in 2018 as a day student. Eva initiated many new events and practices during her time at St George’s in her role as Eco-Prefect. Eva achieved an outstanding 40 points and will pursue her passion for science, studying Medicine at the University of Lausanne.
Lisa joined St George’s as a year 11 boarding student in 2017. Lisa became a Prefect and built a well-earned reputation as a hard-working and caring student. She attained 39 points in her IB Diploma and she hopes to study biological sciences.
Mikail joined as a year 8 day student in 2014. Mikail demonstrated his strong academic abilities throughout the course of his IB diploma and achieved an exceptional and well-deserved 40 points in his IB Diploma. He hopes to study Business Management at the University of Bath.
Polina, originally from Russia, joined as a year 10-day student in 2016. She is a talented scientist and mathematician and has achieved the top level 7 in each of her Higher Levels in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. She achieved an excellent overall 43 points on her IB Diploma. Polina hopes to study Physics at the University of St Andrews.
Mia attended St. George’s for 12 years, joining as a year 2 Day student. Mia has been much involved in student well-being throughout her time at St George’s. Mia achieved a superb 38 points in her IB Diploma. Mia hopes to study Philosophy and Politics in the UK.
Alessandro joined St. George’s in 2020. Alessandro much enjoys political debate and we look forward to him making his mark in Global Politics in the future. Graduating with 38 points Alessandro hopes to study at Harvard or Yale.
Ernesto joined St. George's in 2011. Graduating with an incredible 40 points Ernesto hopes to study at Queen Mary University in London.
